The 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games are set to open this Friday and preparations are underway at Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square! The bustling plaza will host a wide variety of live events throughout July and August as part of PANAMANIA, the 35-day festival looking to showcase the best arts and culture that Ontario and the Americas have to offer.
Last week, Liftow’s forklifts were busy moving the structural beams, fences and hardware necessary to build the three stages where more than 130 artists will perform for free throughout the Games. We sent Lisa Berkeley, Liftow’s marketing and art director, and our trusty designer and photographer Red Andal, to take in the sights and bring back a few snapshots.
Nathan Phillips Square will also be showing live coverage of the Pan Am Games on giant video screens, in addition to featuring nightly Victory Celebrations, complete with fireworks displays, to honour medal winners.
