This week, members of Liftow Hamilton’s team paid a visit to the Juravinski Hospital to officially hand in a $5,000 donation. As we previously announced last April, the Hamilton team was awarded this donation amount for being this year’s recipient of the Quality Branch Award. The team decided to give to the Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation to honor their late colleague Richard Zwart who passed away from his battle with the disease last month.

Richard was a hardworking employee who spent 29 years as a dedicated mechanic at Liftow Hamilton. A Christian family man, Richard volunteered his time in the community and loved anything motorized…especially his motorcycle. As a patient of the Cancer Centre, Richard was “overwhelmed by Liftow’s gesture in making the donation in his honour,” according to his wife Cheryl. Both Richard’s wife Cheryl Zwart and daughter Lindsay Harvey were on hand to present the donation cheque, along with his fellow Liftow employees. The cheque was received by the hospital staff members Vanessa Sheppard, Development Officer Business and Community Engagement, and Helaine Ortmann, Senior Development Officer for the Foundation.
